Alliance Welcomed Two New Members in February 2017

The Alliance is excited to welcome the two new members who joined in February:

Woman & Child Welfare Society, India is based in Odisha, Cuttack (WCWS). It is committed to improving road safety by developing relevant rigorous awareness campaigns and mobilizing the authorities for emergency medical care to road accident victims across the state. In 2016 they organized a “Road Safety Film Show” to observe National Road Safety Week in collaboration with the Odisha Road Safety Society and the Cuttack Regional Transport Authority. 

Amend Road Safety Ghana focuses on road safety interventions that aim to reduce road accidents especially among the vulnerable in the society. Currently, they are working in collaboration with FIA Foundation and Puma Energy Foundation to improve road safety around high risk schools in Accra. Interventions usually comprise of minor infrastructure improvement such as speed humps, zebra crossings, foot paths and the installation of bollards. In addition, Amend Road Safety Ghana conducts road safety education for students in schools across Accra.
