Alliance member the Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport (EASST), has launched an online learning tool on occupational road safety in collaboration with Cranfield University and the IRU Academy. Road Safety at Work: Online Course for Managers focuses on fleet management and occupational road safety.
Approximately one in three road accidents take place when people are driving for work purposes. Therefore reducing the risk of commercial vehicles and public transport could play a very significant role in cutting road fatalities.
Using a series of 10 online video lectures, quizzes and reading materials, the course uses real-life examples and case studies to give those who manage road safety at work the competencies and skills they need to safely manage a fleet of vehicles. At the end, they receive an accredited certificate of completion.
More courses will be added in the future, including road safety education training for teachers.
