Safe Roads | Safe Kids Summit

The Safe Roads | Safe Kids Summit takes place every other year. The 2016 conference took place in Washington DC on 8-9 December and was designed to increase the visibility of global road safety on the international agenda and to decrease the number of deaths and injuries among children. This year, the Alliance participated in the event by contributing to a panel discussion on creating successful alliances.

The conference also focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically as they relate to safety for children. The event featured awards for outstanding activists and speeches by key leaders in the field. It took an in-depth look at key regions of the world including China, Qatar and Latin America.
