NGO registration for Brazil is now open

The Second Global High-Level Conference on Road Safety will be held in Brasilia, Brazil, on 18–19 November 2015. The meeting is hosted by the government of Brazil and cosponsored by the World Health Organization. The Conference will gather around 1500 delegates, among these Ministers of Health and Interior from many countries, senior officials from UN agencies, and representatives from civil society, business and academia leaders.  Delegates will chart ways to accelerate legislative reforms, develop global and national targets and indicators, create innovative funding mechanisms and support road safety efforts in the context of the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals.

The Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety is supporting the planning, which includes the registration process for participating NGOs.

The registration process is still not clearly defined. However, all participating groups will require an invitation from the host, and the Alliance will support this process for Alliance-member NGO attendees.

In preparation, the Alliance would like to compile a list of all those Alliance members who plan to participate—either with financial support or not. Once the instructions for the registration process are clear, the Alliance will instruct our members individually on how to receive an invitation.

Are you planning to participate? If yes, please go to HERE and register. The registration period is open until further notice.

For NGOs that are not Alliance members but wish to participate, please visit the conference website to request an invitation (once registration is open). The government of Brazil and the World Health Organization will consider all requests and respond directly to the NGO in question.

The Alliance will have a limited number of grants available to subsidize travel to Brasilia, and the process for application will be communicated shortly. Alternative funding sources should be considered and actively sought, as the Alliance will be able to provide funding for only a small number of members.
