#CommitToAct Grants Round

Alliance members are invited to submit a proposal of up to US$1,000 for #CommitToAct Streets for Life Week of Action activities. The proposal can have a community mobilization element but must have a policymaker engagement element.

Application criteria

Proposals must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be a full member of the Alliance (Associate members are not eligible)
  • You must be an active member of the Alliance (measured by engagement with Alliance staff, training, campaigns and program)
  • The proposal demonstrate understanding of the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety Budapest Declaration (Call to Action) and regional call to action and the importance of the High-level Meeting
  • The proposal must demonstrate an understanding of the status of 30km/h policy and implementation in their country
  • The proposal must have a clear advocacy aim that targets policy, implementation or enforcement of 30km/h limits
  • The proposal must have two elements:
    1. High-level Meeting preparation: The proposal must include at least two preparatory meetings with NATIONAL decision makers to encourage the Minister or Head of State to participate at the High-level Meeting in June/July 2022
    2. National/state/local commitment or endorsement: In addition, the proposal must include an opportunity (ideally public) for at least three policymakers to endorse or commit to 30km/h streets. This could be a single street or school zone, city/municipal-level, state/provincial level, or national
  • The proposal must have a social media and media engagement element
  • The proposal can have a community mobilization element but must have a policymaker engagement element
  • Applicants are advised to take advantage of the capacity building sessions offered by the Alliance during the application period
  • The deadline for proposals is 12 midnight CET on 18 April 2022. Late applications will not be accepted
