Several members of the Alliance were recognized in November at the 2025 Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards, one of the most respected international honors in road safety. Presented by HRH Prince Michael of Kent, the Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in road safety since 1987, recognizing initiatives that deliver measurable reductions in road traffic deaths and injuries and support meeting the targets of the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety.
This year, the Awards reviewed nearly 80 nominations from 27 countries and recognized 17 award winners and three highly commended initiatives, spanning safe infrastructure, speed management, post-crash response, data systems, technology, and community-based interventions.
Among the award winners were several initiatives led by members of the Alliance, demonstrating the strength and diversity of civil society action across regions:
These award-winning initiatives showcase how NGOs are translating global road safety principles into practical action that saves lives. It also reflects the Alliance’s work in supporting its members in evidence-based advocacy, community-centered solutions, and sustained engagement with decision-makers to implement evidence-based interventions that keep people safe on the road.
