This fall, we will be launching the commitment tracker, an online tool to help NGOs track the commitments that their local and national authorities have made.
Despite best intentions, too many road safety commitments are made and not put into action or are vague and cannot be followed up. The aim of the commitment tracker is to encourage NGOs to work with their authorities to obtain SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) commitments and then follow them through into action.
The commitment tracker will be an accountability tool that will show the status of commitments that have been made: whether they are yet to be started, in progress, or complete. By following up on the promises that have been made, we increase the probability that they will be put into action.
If your NGO has received commitments from your local or national governments that you think should be shown on the commitment tracker, please tell us about them by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
